Recorded at the Lensic Theater in Santa Fe, New Mexico on May 17th, 2006.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Stuart Dybek writes of characters so ethnic and working-class that they would have appealed to Nelson Algren and his poolroom pals. In his novels, short stories, and poetry, Dybek reflects the magic of ethnicity and the power which oral storytelling has to fashion new myths. After reading from his work, Dybek joins in conversation with Michael Silverblatt, host and producer of the premier literary talk show on radio, Bookworm.[audio:http://media.lannan.org/podcasts/stuart-dybek-060517.mp3]
